M2 POCKET KNIFE

This knife is a single blade push button switch blade.  This knife was designed to cut the suspension straps and risers if the trooper ran into any difficulty when landing. Common problems could range from being caught up in a tree to the trooper being entangled in the lines. The M-2 was kept in a small pocket in the M-42 Jump Jacket. This pocket was closed with a small zipper and located just below the collar. Schrade Company of New York and Presto of Connecticut were the two manufacturers of the M-2.
