Johnson was made famous in the movie a Bridge Too Far as actor James Caan saved his life when he was shot in the head. The details in the movie are not accurate but Johnson was shot in the head in Holland and saved by one of his on men. Schlitz was also shot in Holland on Sept. 22, he was not so lucky he died from his wounds. This picture was taken in England 1944.
