Col. George Van Horn Moseley

Regimental Commander of the 502 P.I.R. 

Col. Moseley was a West Point graduate and served as the Regimental CO jumping into Normandy. Col. Moseley shaped the 502 into the fighting organization it proved to be. His time in command during combat was short lived as he broke his leg during the drop into Normandy and was evacuated back to England.

Col. John Michaelis

 EXO. 502 P.I.R 

Michaelis became Regimental Commander on D-Day after Col. Mosley broke his leg during the landing. He served as the   Regimental CO until Sept. 1944 when he was WIA in Holland.

Maj. Vaughn was KIA on D-Day Night when he was cut down by a German machine gunner in a ditch on the side of a road.

This picture was take in Alsace by Joe Pangerl in Feb. of 1945. Hughes served in  Regimental HQ  as the  Regimental Demolitions Officer.
